Your local newspaper now has a blog!

Welcome to the Germantown News blog!

Since we want everyone in Germantown to pick up our newspaper (and we're changing our web provider to one that will ultimately provide subscribers with a much more user-friendly website, as well as phone app), this blog will aim to engage and interest readers (and soon-to-be readers!).

On the blog, we will post the headline and a story "teaser" of stories in the current issue. Our sports editor will update the blog after games with the score and stats, but the paper will have the full story, including interviews with the coach. Since the paper comes out on Wednesdays, the blog will be updated on Wednesdays. Each post will be accompanied with a photo if one appeared with the story in the newspaper, but in order to obtain a copy for your own personal use, you have buy a paper--unless you or your kids are featured in the photo, in which case, we will happily provide you a free copy.

A blog creates a way for people to interact, as well. You can comment on posts, share a story teaser or photo on Google+ and other social media, too.

Also, any relevant press releases we get that we think will be of interest to our readers that we don't have space for in the print edition, we will post on here. These posts will include press releases and police reports from the City of Germantown, local churches, the chamber, nonprofits, etc.

So this is a blog worth following!

We also still have an active Twitter site. Our handle is @Gtownnws.

In the meantime, enjoy and engage. A list of our racks is below, as are the names of our staff members.

Thanks for reading!
