If you love Germantown..

... then you'll take a minute to tell us why!

We are publishing our annual People's Choice Awards special tab next week, and we need some ideas from the people of Germantown about why you love the city. It could be the Germantown Festival, the many parks, the food, the trees, a group to which you belong, anything.

As the editor, I'm going to try to publish a good deal of what people send me verbatim, as well as use what you tell us you love as ideas for photos. So if you have any photos, feel free to send them in! Email all photos to news@germantownnews.com and identify it as being for the People's Choice in the subject, if you don't mind. I'm still doing a newspaper as I do the tab, so I want to make sure I don't get anything mixed up.

Give back to your city and your local newspaper and let us know in a few sentences "Why I Love Germantown" and you may get your statement printed in the People's Choice tab. =)

Thanks!

Rebekah

  1. I love Germantown for many reasons. First and foremost because of the people I call neighbor. It's a truly caring community where kindness does matter.
I love our stellar schools and the educators that are so committed to our children and their academic success
The emergency response professionals who ensure our safety with less a 2 1/2 minute response time.
The economic status of our community with a smart growth plan that supports the preservation of our neighborhoods while being committed to increasing sales tax revenue to reduce the tax burden of our residents. This was smart thinking so many years ago and our officials are committed to a higher standard with selection of quality retail shops, quality mixed use live, work, play neighborhoods that appeal to the housing needs of our younger generations.
Our nationally recognized parks and the programming of the Parks and Recreation department.
Our stellar arts community with quality programming at the Germantown Community Theatre and GPAC - home of Iris.
And the rest of my laundry list:
    Our public services
    High quality drinking water
    Charity Horse Show
    Our heritage as a city
Community engagement opportunities on boards and commissions where we have a voice
    What's not to love?
