Friday, March 24
Crimes 
A cell phone was reportedly taken by a boyfriend at 1930 South Germantown Road at 10:06 a.m.
The suspects left the business without paying for their food at 2285 South Germantown Road at 9:41 p.m.
Officers arrested an adult for unlawful possession of a handgun during a traffic stop at Wolf River Boulevard and Preakness Place at 10:55 p.m.

Vehicle collided into concrete post at Aldwych Drive and Eversholt Lane at 1:35 p.m.
Two vehicles collided at Foster Ridge Road and South Germantown Road at 2:33 p.m.

Saturday, March 25

The victim was sold a counterfeit at 7570 Poplar Avenue at 6:17 p.m. cell phone after responding to an online ad.
A billfold was taken at 2083 South Germantown Road at 7:11 p.m.

Stolen credit card information was used to make a fraudulent transaction at 2110 West Street at 1:53 p.m.
A purse was taken from a vehicle at 8000 Wolf River Boulevard at 6:18 p.m.

Tuesday, March 28

A debit card account from the 7100 block of Neshoba Road was used to make fraudulent purchases in another jurisdiction at 12:25 p.m.
Victim was struck by an acquaintance with a weapon during an argument in the 1700 block of Allenby Green at 1:16 p.m.
Victim was assaulted by her daughter during an argument in the 8300 block of Westfair Circle at 6:59 p.m.
Victim was assaulted by her husband during an argument in the 3000 block of Inspiration Drive at 8:41 p.m.

Stolen credit card account information was used to make fraudulent purchases online at 11:15 a.m. Complaint originated in the 6900 block of Corsica Drive.
Two framed photos were taken from an open, unoccupied model home in the 1600 block of Exeter Road at 3:49 p.m.
An adult was arrested for displaying an altered drive out tag during a traffic stop at South Germantown Road and Wolf Trail Cove at 10:44 p.m.

Two vehicles collided at Poplar Avenue and West Street at 2:09 p.m.
Two vehicles collided at Poplar Avenue and Poplar Pike at 5:35 p.m.

Thursday, March 30
Crimes
The victim was contacted in violation of a court order in the 1800 block of Poplar Woods Circle West at 6:17 p.m.
An adult was arrested for possession of cocaine during a traffic stop at Farmington Boulevard and South Germantown Road at 6:37 p.m.

Three vehicles collided at South Germantown Road and Wolf River Boulevard at 8:23 a.m.
Two vehicles collided on Fountainside Drive at 3:52 p.m.
Two vehicles collided causing possible injuries at Dogwood Road and Dogwood Trail Drive at 6:45 p.m.

OPINION: For Sunshine Laws to work, BMA should vote to record all sessions

During last week’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, I was glad to see the vote was unanimous in favor of taking up a discussion at the May 8 meeting to vote on recording BMA executive sessions.  As one person pointed out during the public comments portion of the meeting, it is hard to hear what’s being discussed at the executive sessions because not everyone has an individual microphone, and there’s no way for the public to review what was said. Although I understand why Alderman Owens said he supported recording the sessions, but hesitated to pile more work on the city clerk in terms of producing more minutes, I do think the city should, at some point, keep minutes from the sessions. Past presidents of Suburban Garden Club prepare Club for upcoming flower show

“Horse and Garden” The Flora and Fauna of Germantown, Tennessee The Suburban Garden Club held its March meeting at the Memphis Botanic Garden to accommodate the large number of designs and arrangements that were used as correct examples for the club’s flower show on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.   The show will be held at the Germantown Country Club from one to four in the afternoon.   It is free and open to the public.   Barbara Armstrong, Nancy Klepper and Lucy Wilkinson created and provided the designs for the flower show demonstrations entitled “Alignment, Cadence, and Conformation.” Suburban members appreciated the clever terminology for the class as being perfect for an equestrian-themed flower show. They instructed the members on the major Divisions of Design beginning with floor arrangements that must be at least five feet tall to hanging miniature designs that cannot be more than five inches high.   All designs must represent a designated equestrian theme such as:
